Preserving Heritage through Innovation
Across many European and neighbouring regions, traditional craft skills such as woodworking, textiles, pottery, and handmade production are gradually disappearing due to ageing artisans, lack of structured training pathways, and limited interest from younger generations. At the same time, the craft sector remains an important part of cultural heritage, local identity, and regional economic development.
CRAFTVET addresses these challenges by supporting vocational education institutions, teachers, and craft businesses to modernise training programmes. By developing innovative materials, teacher toolkits, and practical learning modules, we combine ancestral craftsmanship knowledge with modern techniques and digital tools to ensure these valuable traditions thrive in the modern economy.
